Game

BoH

Blush of Health (BoH): a Merit from Laws of the Night: Revised that grants a Kindred the ability to breath once more and helps them appear more human.

BoK

Bearing of Kings (BoK), a merit from the Libellus Sanguinus II.

BSD

Black Sprial Dancer: A Garou Tribe often considered the most "evil" of the Garou Tribes and associated with the Wyrm

Embrace, the

The Embrace is the process by which a new vampire is sired, or created.

G&G

Glitter and Gloom: An annual event hosted by Baltimore by Night: Dark Harbor at the Lord Baltimore Hotel in Baltimore, MD.

GNC

Generate New Character: Any situation where a character is permanently no longer available for play. Used more commonly in situations where the reason for removal is out of character (OOC).
"The staff administratively GNC'd Steve." or "I heard Bob went to the big event, ran afoul of some Archons, and got GNC'd"

IC

In Character: refers to knowledge, actions, play from the perspective of the character, not the player.

Kindred

A Vampire in the World of Darkness.

NPC

Non-Player Character (NPC): a character controlled by the Storyteller that provides assistance to or challenges for the Player Characters in a story.

OOC

Out of Character: refers to knowledge, actions, play from the perspective of the player, not the character. Out of Character knowledge should not be used for in character purposes!

OWbN

One World by Night: refers to the coordinated, international organization of Vampire: The Masquerade Mind's Eye Theater games of which Baltimore by Night: Dark Harbor is a member. Most often pronounced "O B Wan" when spoken about.

PC

Player Character (PC): one of the many characters participating in a story controlled by individual players.

PvE (also CvE)

Player vs. Environment (PvE) [also Character vs. Environment (CVE)]: conflict primarily between one or more Player Characters and the story (or plot). This can be conflict that is PC vs. NPC , against lesser monsters, or even events within the world.

PVP (also CVC)

Player vs. Player (PVP) [also Character vs. Character (CVC)]: conflict primarily between two Player Characters. Often referred to as CVC to indicate more clearly that this is NOT to be taken as between or against the person controlling the character, but solely in character conflict.

R&U

R & U: Rare & Unique. This refers to an old section of the OWbN bylaws that has been expanded and incorporated into the character bylaws. The section governed rules and abilities that were considered uncommon and not often found in general play.

ST

Storyteller (ST): a god among... wait... Refers to the person running the game. This person (or people) is responsible for coming up with and communicating the plot ideas for the game. They control NPCs and the environment for the local instance of the World of Darkness inhabited by the players.

Sect

Anarchs, the

A grouping of vampires who have rejected the organizational aspects and rules of both the Camarilla and the Sabbat. These vampires have chosen to go their own direction outside of the major sects.

Camarilla, the

The largest of the vampire sects, dedicated to upholding the Masquerade and the Traditions.

Masquerade, the

The central tenet of the Camarilla: the effort to hide the existence of vampires from humanity.

Sabbat, the

The second largest of the vampire sects. Commonly found in direct opposition to the Camarilla.

Traditions, the

The Traditions are considered the inviolate rules of Kindred existence, and they have been the basis of all vampiric laws since the time of Caine.

Clan

Nos

A shorthand reference to the Nosferatu, the best and most awesome of the vampire Clans.

Influence

Fix

Knowledge of another characters influence within the domain. A character must have a fix before being able to pursue any additional actions for or against another's influence.

Hit

Another term for a Fix.
